Clomiphene citrate is another name for Clomid. It’s an oral drug that’s commonly used to treat infertility in women. Clomid works by tricking the body into thinking your estrogen levels are lower than they are, causing your pituitary gland to secrete more follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). For post cycle therapy (PCT), clomiphene citrate (Clomid) and tamoxifen (Nolvadex) may be used to help restore the user’s average testosterone production. Since both can block estrogen at the hypothalamus and pituitary, negative feedback tolerance is no longer inhibited. Increased LH can aid in stimulating the testes’ Leydig cells to produce more testosterone.
